Coloration of glass is normally done in 2 stages. Pigment is mixed with glass granules before they are heated or when the glass is in molten stage. Alternative, colors are applied after the glass is formed. The color is more stable and permanent for the first method. For the second method, since the paint is applied in the final stage and the paint is normally relatively unstable and will discolor with time. However, either method can produce very colorful glass beads and jewelry products.
Have fun!
